Ty Bailey, City Manager

Ty Bailey was appointed as Morgan City's first City Manager in 2017.  His previous positions of employment were the City Manager of Monticello, Utah, and a Bureau Chief for the Utah Division of Emergency Management.  Ty has a Master's of Public Administration with an emphasis in Disaster Management from American Public University.  He holds a Certified Public Manager Certificate from the University of Utah and also has a Baccalaureate of Arts in Sociology with a Spanish Minor from Weber State University.  Ty has been an adjunct instructor for Ashford University since 2011.

Ty is passionate about government services and really enjoys working at the local level.  As City Manager he has all the administrative authority for the City and is responsible for the budget, personnel, resources, and services.  He works closely with the Mayor and City Council as they create policies and make very difficult decisions.

Ty loves to golf, fish, and do home improvement projects for fun.  Mostly he likes to spend time with his wife and kids.
