High Water Usage Checklist
You may want to check or have your plumber check the following items before you contact us to ensure they are functioning properly. One or more of these items, if in use or not properly functioning may cause increased water usage.
- Toilet tank float valves or stopper plug
- Operation of water softener
- Swamp cooler
- Filling a pool or hot tub
- Using culinary water to water lawns
- Check all outside yard hydrants for drips/leaks
- Added people in your household
If, after reviewing the checklist, you are still unable to identify the reason for your increased usage, please contact Morgan City to schedule an appointment to speak with our Water Department Supervisor.
Morgan City Water Department will assist homeowners by giving notice of potential problems when possible; however, the City’s accountability for the water stops at the water meter. Homeowners are responsible for the cost and water usage, costs related to identifying problems and/or repair costs.
